Visiting of pagan temple Garni, which is the only Hellenistic colonnaded building in Armenia.In the territory of the temple one can find ruins of the fortress, a royal summer palace and a bath complex, which was built in the 3rd century AD.Visiting Geghard medieval monastery.The name Geghard, meaning “the Monastery of the Spear”, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Echmiadzin
Echmiadzin cathedral was built between 301 and 303.It was Gregory the Illuminator that laid the first stone of Cathedral of Etchmiadzin in 303 (by the way the name of Echmiadzin means “the descent of the only begotten”). According to legend, Gregory the Illuminator saw Jesus in his dream and showed the place of the monastery and that’s why this place is truly sacred. On the place Gregory the Illuminator built a small altar to keep the place of the descent of the Son of God sacred.

Amberd Fortress
The fortress was founded in the 7th century A.D. during the rule of the Kamsarakan princes.Apart from portions of walls, towers and the church, there are the ruins of a bathhouse and parts of a secret passage and a water-supply system that can be seen.

Искренне всем рекомендую фирму Ереван Тревел!! Только что вернулись из Армении под большим впечатлением. Доверились менеджеру в Москве Алле, которая помогла подобрать тур (индивидуальный для меня с дочкой-подростком) и симпатичный только что открывшийся отель в самом центре города с прекрасными завтраками. За 4 дня посмотрели и город, и Севан с Гарни и Герард, Хор Вирап, Эчмиадзин. Хотела показать ребенку пещеру Арени, где не так давно обнаружили стоянку древнего человека. Пошли навстречу, включили в программу. Отдельное спасибо нашему потрясающему гиду Марине, слушали ее все четыре дня на одном дыхании! И водитель хороший! Единственное огорчение (независящее от организаторов нашего тура, пошли самостоятельно в последний день) в главном историческом музее в Ереване минимум информации на русском. Да! Кухня армянская, конечно, замечательная, и кафе в городе много и на любой вкус.
